Building Local Capital for a New Economy

This announcement contains information about a groundbreaking event by the Mile High Business Alliance to address the economic challenges faced by local businesses and communities.

Rebuilding Economic Stability & Financial Independence
As banks fail and lending tightens, there is actually less money in circulation. This is not just an issue of consumer confidence; people can’t spend money that they don’t have. While massive corporate profits left our towns and fell into the hands of a few, small businesses have created 80% of the new jobs in the past 10 years. These businesses, which give our communities their unique character, are hit the hardest. We are seeing too many close their doors, and we are unwilling to stand by while our local businesses bleed to death.

We Need Solutions Now

If we want to keep our local economies and communities functioning, we need to activate latent forms of capital to support local business. We can’t wait for the government to bail us out.

This is why the Mile High Business Alliance is convening the Local Capital Summit on May 20, 2009.

This summit brings together problem-solvers with innovative plans, programs and ideas for managing sweat equity, accessing short-term loans, accelerating payment of receivables, introducing affordable health benefits, engaging greater community support, exchanging offerings with other local businesses, and more. Implementing one of these could make the difference in paying employees, managing a shortfall and keeping your business afloat.

Early Registration Now Open

The structure of this summit promises to be very different, as we learn from you what topics, speakers and sessions will be of most benefit to you and your business. After you register, you'll be able to suggest topics and sign up for the sessions you want to participate in. Read more about the schedule and format of the event.

Through February 28th, Registration is just $65 and the evening session is an additional $25. This includes meals and refreshments for one. The evening session provides extra opportunity to connect with participants and other community leaders.

We will announce the venue soon, but you can save the most by registering before February 28th. Members of the Mile High Business Alliance and other BALLE networks will save an additional 15% off registration. (read more and save your place today)
