Business group wants shoppers to buy local
And the news coverage on Buy Local Week just keeps rolling in! Unfortunately, we haven't been able to get our paws on the video segment that appeared on 9 News. Pasted below is a transcribed version (sans Mickki's lovely face, of course).

DENVER - Before you head into the fray that is holiday shopping, Mickki Langston wants you to think about where you're going and if you can help bolster the Colorado economy.
"There's a common misconception that when you go to a local business, you're going to spend more for the same thing than if you go to a non-local business," said Langston, co-founder of the Mile High Business Association. "For the most part, that's not really the case."
On Black Friday and all next week, Langston wants people to think about going to locally-owned stores first. The Mile High Business Association has dubbed November 30 to December 6 as "Buy Local Week."
"So, if we want to address, creating a more stable, more resilient local economy, we have to look at what are the businesses and economic policies that allow us to do that?" said Langston.
Langston says shoppers can find similar deals at "Mom and Pop" operations as the national stores.
Though, national stores say with their buying power they can offer more deals to the consumer.
"The thing is, when we spend money at a local business, it ends up re-circulating in our local economy at least three more times before it leaves the community over if you were to spend that money at a non-local business," said Langston.
