Navigating Local Taxes for Your Small Business
Date & Time:
Sat, 04/10/2010 - 3:30am - 4:30am As you venture into your new creative enterprise, the world of local taxes can be daunting. However, understanding the myriad of tax requirements (and how to incorporate them into your business operations) are crucial to your success. The Mile High Business Alliance presents this overview of local taxes and their implications for your small business. The session will include information on best practices for record keeping, advice on working with an accountant and additional resources for understanding your tax liabilities. Special focus will be given to sales tax requirements, and understanding how the IRS views a "hobby" versus a "business." The material will be covered in the first 60 minutes or less, with additional time at the end for Q&A from our presenter, Letitia M. Pleis, PhD, CPA, CMA and CFM.
