A little bit of love sure goes a long way. Here are a few suggestions for meeting your V-Day needs via local businesses.
It has begun. Boulder Weekly’s Buy Local Month, part of our year-round I Love Local campaign. Starting this week, Boulder Weekly urges you to shop conscientiously for holiday food and gifts by choosing to spend your hard-earned dollars at locally owned businesses.
This holiday season, Boulder Weekly will be encouraging Boulder County residents to spend money at locally owned businesses to support our local economy and also to enter to win great prizes. The 2009 Boulder Weekly Holiday Pledge starts in November and runs through December, which is "Buy Local Month." We also will be featuring Boulder Weekly's Buy Local Edition on November 19th, kicking off the holiday season.
Okay, okay. I get it. I'll buy local already. Sheesh. But I'm still confused...
There are a plethora of campaigns and organizations promoting buying locally this holiday season. So far, I've been blogging about a lot of individual business stories as well as coverage on ourcampaign here in Denver, but there's a lot more out there, especially in Boulder. Since I'm knee-deep in this stuff, I'm thoroughly in the know... and I think that you should be too! Here's a little walk through of who's who and what campaigns they're leading.
